New York State has FREE Filing for Income Taxes this year, do I have to use the FEE for State taxes?
New York State has FREE FILING for Income Taxes. Can I use TaxFree/Community just for the Federal Income Tax? If so, how do I do this?

Is there an answer to my question? Do I have to wait for an answer until Monday, when your office opens after the weekend?

@quinnjanis38, have you already set up an account with FreeTaxUSA? If so, we won’t be able to switch your account to Free File, but you can create a new account on Free File if you would like. Before doing so, you may want to consider finishing your return using your existing FreeTaxUSA full-service account. By doing so, you have access to many additional benefits and features such as:
-Access to prior-year tax filing and stored returns
-Deluxe Support with chat
-Expert guidance and advice from certified tax professionals
-Professionally printed copy of your return
-Use of your refund to pay for any selected products.
If you decide to create a new account using Free File and your AGI is under $48,000 or were active-duty military in 2024 with an AGI under $84,000 you qualify to create a Free File account through the IRS Free File program delivered by FreeTaxUSA, by going to the IRS Free File link.

I tried to create a new account going through the IRS Free File link but it still created a standard account.

Hello Aiden,
If you have created an account using the IRS free file link, it will be the free file software. If you have created multiple accounts, please log into each of them to ensure one isn't a free file account.
If you have additional questions please reach out to our Customer Support Team inside your account and they can verify if you have created additional accounts in the software using free file.0
