My husband is retired and I still work. We file separate returns. Will we get the additional $6,000 senior discount if we continue to do this? Or do we have to file jointly?

Thank you for joining the FreeTaxUSA Community. According to the IRS, in order to claim the new additional $6,000 deduction for seniors, Taxpayers must "File jointly, if married, to claim the deduction". You can read more about eligibility for the deduction here on the IRS website.
