How do I include an IRA distribution in the New York State Subtractions section?

I took a Required Minimum Distribution from an IRA of $910 in 2025. Since it is below the $20,000 threshold, it is not taxable on my NYS Form IT-201 and should be included in the "New York State Subtractions" section. But, when filling out the info on FreeTaxUSA for my state form, I can not find where I put in that amount in the "questionaire" section so that it will be deducted in the "New York State Subtractions" section (lines 25-33) on the IT-201. Can someone help me with this?

Hi MAW, first you'll want to make sure the 1099-R information for the required minimum distribution has been entered in the software. To do that, select Income > Common Income > Retirement Income (1099-R). When you're done and have saved that information, you can select State (New York) > Pension and Annuity Exclusion. You'll be asked there if you have any pension income or other retirement income distributions that qualify for the exclusion.
