Non dependent
I included my child as a non dependent in my tax return, and I provided that my ex was claiming the child. Under the childcare/dependent care section I claimed $0 for said child. When my ex went to file and claim dependent care on said child his return was denied as our child's SSN was already claimed on my return. Why did this happen if I specifically did not claim the child under child tax, and I claimed $0 for the child under the dependent care expenses?

Hello, Hhouse02,
I would recommend that you contact customer support. It may be that your ex is trying to claim a credit that you claimed when you claimed your child as a non-dependent. Or perhaps something was done incorrectly. Customer support will be able to look up your account and see what happened.
