I’m self employed and moved from WI to MN halfway through this year. What do I need to do or know to file in both states?

Hi Selia_1, you would need to know what income and expenses — and therefore, what profits — are earned in each state, so that you can allocate the total profits between each of those states.
You will be filing 2 part-year state tax returns, and then you would allocate all your business income between those two states so that you can pay taxes accordingly. Since you moved from one state to the other, the income you allocate to each state should not overlap or be taxed by both states.
