Can you itemize the rent you paid for your residential home?
Do you have to mail in 1099 B with your tax return? If so, how would you send it when filing electronically?
Itemized deductions are mortgage interest, state and local taxes, charitable contributions, and medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. Your state may have different rules.
1099-Bs do not have to be submitted except in unusual circumstances. Just make sure to report all the required information from the 1099-B on Schedule D, Form 8949, or any other required forms.
