She has lived with me since 9/2024 and has been unable to work since then. she receives a small monthly SNAP allowance.

    Hello rozzie,

    It is possible that your daughter is a qualifying person for the Head of Household status. There are certain requirements and you can use the IRS interactive Tax Assistant to help you.

    Basically, you need to determine if your daughter is your qualifying child or qualifying relative (see page 12 of the link below). Once you have determined that, you can use table 4 (page 10) to see if they are a qualifying person for the Head of Household status.
