If this is my first time filing taxes and i have to file years 2022, 2023,& 2024, can i file them all at once? Like e-file 2024 and then mail in 2022 and 2023? Or do i have to file 2022 and 2023 by mail before i e-file 2024? (I do not owe and was released from correctional facility in 2022 … thats why this is my first time filing… )

    Hi Zasha,

    Thanks for joining our Community.

You only need to wait to file if information from your 2022 return may affect your 2023 return, and then that affects your 2024 return. For instance if you had a capital loss of $7000 in 2022, $3000 of that would carry forward to 2023, and then potentially $3000 more carryforward to 2024. Our software will do all this for you automatically if you prepare returns in date order.

My recommendation is to start with the 2022 tax return first.

You can prepare and file tax years 2022 and 2023 from our prior year website. You'll print, sign and date, and mail these returns. I recommend you mail in separate envelopes to avoid processing errors and delays.

You can prepare and e-file your 2024 tax return here on our website.

Prepare the returns in date order, that might take a few days, and mail and/or e-file as convenient.
