why has my payment not gone through? who do i need to contact? is this normal?

the email i got reads as follows:
"Since you used direct debit, the IRS will withdraw the tax payment from your bank account on the date selected"
i chose this date which is also when i filed and received notice that it was accepted:
04/14/25
and my payment is still not showing on my bank account. i do not know who to contact, or if everything is okay because i see in forums that the irs takes a few business days to process. I did not change any of my bank details from last year and everything was fine last year. someone please help me understand what's happening why things are taking so long to process and if i need to get in contact with anyone? its 4/16 now and im getting extremely worried but have not received any updates on if things didn't go through or if there is a processing time for direct deposit like people are saying there is

It is normal for it to take a few days, especially with the tax deadline. Due to all the scheduled requests for payment, it can take the IRS days, or even weeks to process them all.
If everything has been entered in correctly, you should be fine. If you picked a date on or before the filing deadline to make your payment, your payment will be considered on time, even if the IRS doesn’t process it for two weeks.
You can check your direct deposit information by going to Final Steps -> Check Status / Print Tax Return. There should be a spot on that page where you can review your bank account information and double check that everything was entered correctly.
