I reported an amount as Capital Gains when I should have reported Form 1099B: Proceeds From Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions. There is absolutely no way to get any help with this from Free Tax USA. I've been with them for several years, but I've never needed help before. This will be the last time I use them. Their customer services sucks!

    Besides all of that aggravation, when I logged in to Free Tax USA, the amount I owe Federal and State had exactly doubled for both.

    Hello TamaraGayle_9:

    If you reported a capital gain, you likely may have obtained that information from your Form 1099-B, because a Form 1099-B will contain, among other things, capital gain/capital loss information.

    What we recommend at this point is to start a chat or support issue with a member of our Customer Support Team and they can take a look at your account and see what you have entered.  To contact Customer Support, follow these steps:

    1. Log into your account;

    2. Select Support in the upper right of your screen;

    3. In the drop down, select Live Chat.
