I was part year resident in DE last year moved from NY. I work in PA. If I am filing a non-resident tax return in DE, can I claim credit for taxes paid in PA? I know if I file a resident tax return, I can claim the credit.

    Hi Scouse_s,

Generally, you cannot claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on a nonresident state return. You said, "I was part year resident in DE last year moved from NY." Shouldn't you be filing a part-year DE return? If so, you CAN claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on a PY state return.
