    FreeTaxUSA is retail level tax preparation software. It is not considered paid professional tax preparation since you are preparing your own return using our software. This is true even if you choose to add the Pro Support level of service as we are not preparing your tax return, you are.

    If however, you pay someone to prepare your return, and they choose to use FreeTaxUSA as their software provider, that would be considered paid tax preparation.
