Am I still able to e-file my 2022 tax return?

Also, if I have the exact income details from the IRS transcript, is the 1099 tax ID still required?

    Hello deeppai323,

You may e-file a 2022 tax return, however, you must have an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN). Otherwise, you must print, sign and mail in your return with any W-2s.

Also, a tax transcript will NOT have the full EIN on a 1099 or W-2 or any tax earning document. You must input the full EIN yourself, or you won't be able to e-file, since the IRS cross checks for correct matching EINs.

Hi Bri! Our website charges a fee to prepare your state return. That is, we charge a fee to generate the appropriate tax forms, calculate your tax due/refund, and place the correct numbers in the right place on your tax forms. This fee is the same regardless of whether you e-file or mail a paper return, meaning the fee would still apply if you file by mail.

So to clarify, federal tax return preparation is always free.

Prior year state tax return preparation is just $17.99.

We don't charge a fee for e-filing. You can e-file for free, if your tax return is eligible for e-file.

Unfortunately, 2021 tax returns are no longer eligible for e-file at this point. I know filing by mail may not be as convenient, but we do our best to make the filing process as easy as possible. Mailing instructions will be provided for you at the end of the Filing screens if you choose to prepare a 2021 tax return with us.
