Passkey and Firefox

I was trying to setup a passkey and I am getting this error.

"This browser/device isn't compatible with passkey"

I currently have Firefox 144.0 on Windows 11 Pro. (all fully updated)

Not sure if it is FTU and Firefox that is the problem or a Firefox issue or FTU web page.

I am covering all bases by posting here and at a Firefox Support forum to find a solution.

Note Firefox is my default browser.

Thanks

    Hi JLFTUFreeForum,

I spoke with a security specialist and a dev team member. They read your message and said it sounds more like your device might not be passkey compatible. If you are not using a password manager and your device doesn't have biometric abilities (fingerprint scanner, face id, etc.) then you'll be unable to use a passkey.

    Hi JLFTUFreeForum,

Although Firefox is a good browser, it may not support the most current passkey security settings we have employed on FreeTaxUSA. Try using another browser, such as MS Edge or Google Chrome. Let us know if that resolves the issue for you. Also, what operating system are you using?

I have reported the issue to our development team, and they are looking into the issue.

    @MatthewD

    Thanks for the response.

I checked various browser Chrome, Vivaldi and Brave each says they are not compatible.
    Will not use MS Edge.

I setup a passkey using Google Password Manager.
Using Chrome I added the pin to FTU. logged out, clear cache & cookies to be safe before I log back in.

I still have to log in using User ID and Password. Does not ask for Passkey pin.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    OK. Thanks

I will just stick with passwords.

I do use a password manager (Keepass).
