I filed with FreeTaxUSA in 2024. Can I import prior 2024 year financial data into 2025 and edit as needed?

    Hello gaterbater45,

Since you filed with FreeTaxUSA in 2024, your information will automatically roll over when you log into the same account for your 2025 return. This includes your personal information, dependents, income sources, and deduction/credit information from your 2024 return.

Once you're in the 2025 software, you can edit and update any information as needed throughout the return. You'll simply go through each section and make changes where your 2025 information differs from 2024.

I was referring to dollar amounts transferring over from 2024?

If that is not possible, then maybe have options as to which forms or sections to pull prior year dollar amount data into current year.

Is there an easy enough way to flip to see prior year input dollar amounts. For example, if I'm inputting dollar amounts in schedule C, can I somehow flip to prior year data to see what was entered prior year?

    Hello again,

We currently do not have a way to import prior year amounts directly into the current year's software. Generally, all of these amounts change from year to year and we do not want our customers to enter an amount from a prior year and accidentally forget to update it with the correct amounts.

Things like your depreciable assets for your Schedule C will roll over and be updated for the current tax year for you. But you would have to enter new amounts for your gross receipts and such.

If you would like, you can sign into the 2024 edition of the software and see your individual entries for 2024.
