Hello all,

I am seeking clarity on whether the following matters: Do I need to clarify on my 2025 taxes that my income reported on my W2 is from when I worked and lived in NV for the first half of 2025? State income information is for MN, not NV where the work was done.

I left that job and state for MN where my current address is reflected on my W2. I had to report my new MN address to my former employer so that all my documents would be mailed to me. Please advise. Thank you!

    Hello Emalv,

It is fine that your W-2 has your most current address. On your federal return, you do not need to distinguish where you earned your income because it is all taxed by the US Goverment. On your MN return, you will want to indicate what income was earned in NV vs MN so you are not taxed on the income earned in NV while a resident there.
