I had two problems this year regarding charitable ded. for non-itemizers & penalty for late payment
I filed my return and realized that I forgotten to enter my charitable deductions. I thought it didn't matter because I didn't itemize. But then I read (on this site!) about the extra above-the-line charitable contribution deduction for 2025. FTUSA didn't prompt me for that when it analyzed my return. I decided I needed to file an amended return and claim that.
I started the amended return.
First problem: FTUSA didn't remember that I had paid a penalty for late payment of estimated taxes, so it suggested a different refund amount than I actually got from the IRS.
Second problem: Even after I entered my charitable contributions, FTUSA isn't letting me claim the deduction. This is major!
Anybody else seeing this?

There is no deduction for charitable contributions if you do not itemize. The new deduction for non-itemizers doesn't take effect until the 2026 tax year.
