AZ delay filing

I paid the fee to e-file my AZ state taxes. But I don't want to file until the state finalizes the tax code (senior deduction etc).
After prepping to file the federal forms, the only state option is e-file or mail in my return.

How can I file the fed return but delay filing the state?

    Hi Az57chevy,

    You can absolutely file your federal return now and come back to file your AZ state return later. Here's how to do it:

    1. When you reach Final Steps > Filing Method, select the option to mail your state return.
    2. Complete the process and submit only your federal return by e-file.
    3. Do not actually mail the state return — just set it aside for now.
    4. When Arizona finalizes its tax code and you're ready to file, you can come back to your account, unlock the state return, and switch it to e-file at that time.
