PA tax - spouses living in two different states

We are trying to determine the correct taxable income for PA taxes. We are filing MFJ. During 2025 I worked in PA while my spouse in TX. Would both of our income be PA-taxable, even if my spouse's W-2 has no indication on PA taxes? Thanks!

    Hello TastyBreakAgent,

One detail we are missing to help you determine what state will tax your income. Where did you and your spouse live in 2025? Let's assume you lived and worked in PA and your spouse lived and worked in TX. If that is the case, then you will need two accounts to file your tax return.

1st account: Use this account to file a MFJ federal return. This return can be e-filed.

2nd account: Use this account to file a MFS PA return. You will need to use MFS on the federal and only enter your financial information. Choose to Mail the federal and state returns and only mail the PA return. This way only your income is reported to PA
