I received a notice from "FreeTaxUSA" that my returns were rejected by IRS and GA State. I was told there were problems with info about one of my employer's information. I have no idea though which employer and what is missing.

    Hello,

The IRS does not tell us which employer is causing the problem. I would recommend that you carefully review the EIN of each W-2 that you entered into our software. I'd also recommend that you make sure that you entered the name of the company exactly as it is on your W-2.

If it continues to be rejected, you may need to mail in your returns this year.

The IRS requires 3 leading zeroes for Employer ID. The field is not allowing the leading zeroes.

There are no leading zeroes in an EIN. EINs all have nine numbers in the format 2 digits-7 digits.

    Hello Jeannie,

JMSSGV is right, there shouldn't be any leading 0s for an EIN and they are only nine digits. If there happens to be some extra 0s, I would recommend that you omit them if they make the EIN longer than 9 digits.
