    Hello Junior669:

If by your post you mean that your tax return has been rejected because of an incorrect prior year AGI, there could be several reasons for such rejection. For example, the IRS may have corrected your prior year tax return after submission, or perhaps it was processed later in the tax season and the IRS does not have your prior year AGI in their system, or the prior year AGI that the IRS has for you does not match with your social security number. Unfortunately, you may never ascertain the reason why there is a problem with your prior year AGI.

If you filed with us last year, our software should, in the Final Steps section, pre-populate your prior year AGI so that there should be no need to search your prior year tax return for your AGI. However, to ensure our software correctly reflects your prior year AGI, take a look at line 11 on your 2024 Form 1040. Line 11 will reflect your AGI for 2024, and compare that AGI amount to what you entered into our software. If the AGI amounts are consistent, then there must be some other reason why your tax return has been rejected; however, as noted herein, you may never know why the AGI is causing the rejection. If the rejection persists, your only option may be to print and mail your tax return.

You might try entering a zero for the prior year AGI if for some reason the return is rejected because of an AGI mismatch. Although there is no guarantee that entering a zero will work.
