I am a W-2 part-time employee who mostly works remotely but am not reimbursed for expenses like paper, print cartridges, supplies, internet, or even parking when I do go to my office in-person. Is there anyway that I can deduct any of these expenses?

Unfortunately, most W-2 employees are not able to deduct work expenses on their return, but if you are any of the following, certain expenses can be deducted:

    • Armed Forces reservists
    • Qualified performing artists
    • Fee-basis state or local government officials
    • Employees with impairment-related work expenses

Here is a link to an IRS webpage discussing who qualifies for the employee business expense deduction and what expenses can be deducted: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/heres-who-qualifies-for-the-employee-business-expense-deduction
