Where do I put my employer student loan payment assistance on Massachusetts return? Turbo Tax asks for it, but don't see it on freetaxusa.
Can spouses living in 2 different states ( NY and MA) file MFJ at federal level and MFS for each state? Does NY and MA allow MFS filing if federal has been filed as MFJ? Thanks!
I don't think freetax is picking up the correct amount. I work in CT and live in RI. Freetax is picking up the W2 wages box 1 in the "Income Earned While a Nonresident" instead of just the CT wages in box 16 of my W2. This is triggering a larger refund than what I should be getting. I am unable to edit this as well. I even…
Hello. I have a rental property in Texas, which has no state income tax. However, I am a resident in California, which requires rental property to be filed as part of my income. I cannot seem to be able to configure this directly. Is there a way for me to adjust to add rental income to be recognized in the California state…
Freetaxusa shows that my California Income Tax Withheld is $7,370, even though across my W-2s, that amount is only $6154.27. I'm a resident of WA that travels to CA for work. How do I validate how freetaxusa comes up with the $7,370 amount? The 540NR form simply states the amount withheld without saying how it's calculated.

There is a form to enter these but the software never filled it in. This means my filing is incorrect. And I…

So i did not classify it as marketplace. But from my understanding ,this penalty is for not having insurance, which I do. Please help! I don't know how to fix…
My spouse and I both live in NYS but have different NYC residency statuses (one of us is a full-year NYC resident, the other is not a NYC resident). When I try to file federal jointly and note in the state return that we have different statuses, Turbotax won't let us e-file. Any way around that, other than to file MFS?…
I lived in NY and bought a house in WV. The deed was issued in June and I sent my belongings that month, but I lived in NY until the end of July. I want to file my taxes for NY from January to July and for WV for June to December because it's not worth it for me to have WV come back at me when they ask for proof of…
