For the past two years, I have qualified for the free tax return filing for federal and state. The FreeTaxUSA history is not showing these past two years. How, or where, can I find copies of these tax returns?

Huh, weird, usually they would just up if you click view prior year return. From what I remember paid doesn't look that different from the free one they offer. Are you using the same like username and stuff that you did when you qualified for freefile one?

    Hi FB37_

Thanks for writing in with your question and welcome to our Community.

If you used FreeTaxUSA offered through the Free File Alliance, your FreeTaxUSA account must comply with the Free File Alliance guidelines and will have some limitations.

For example, your free file account will not list prior year returns.

However, you can print your prior year returns by signing into your account for that year. Use the FreeTaxUSA website here to login to your FreeTaxUSA prior year account for prior year returns.

Our customers that create accounts directly with FreeTaxUSA can print out copies of prior year returns or download a PDF copy. Customers login to each respective year and information rolls over from one year to the next, providing comparisons from last year and the ability to print prior year returns from the most current year.

Keep in mind on a regular account federal returns are still free and state returns are generally around $15. Plus you have other offers you can select from.

If you're unable to print a return, you can get a transcript copy from your IRS account online called a Record of Return for the three most recent years.

Thanks for your replies. I was able to find my 2023 tax returns by logging into FreeTaxUSA Right away, I had the option to click on "2023" which led to the returns I needed. My confusion was in not finding returns for the past 3 years under the "History" tab.
