I don't see any place to enter a Long-Term Capital Loss from my 1099DIV. Links to Capital Gains/Losses do not work.

Where do I enter a LT Capital Loss???

    Hello,

Form 1099-DIV is used for reporting dividend income, capital gains, and other dividend-like distributions related to stocks and mutual funds. Long term capital losses are only reported with Form 1099-B, Form 1099-S for real estate, or with your own records if there was no Form 1099 issued.

If there is a negative number reported on your Form 1099-DIV, it is likely an error on the form. Check with the issuer.

If there is a gain, follow this menu path Income TAB > Investments and Savings > Click +Add an Investment or +Add Another Investment > Choose Stock Sales if there is a 1099-B or Other Sales > Continue through the remaining screens.

Let us know if there are any other questions.
