When can I contribute to an IRA?

I am thinking about contributing to an IRA. If I wait till February or March 2025, can I still contribute and make a deduction on my 2024 tax return for this year. Or am I out of luck?

    Hi Outfishing,

    That is a great question. You have until the filing deadline of April 15, 2025 to make a deductible IRA contribution on your 2024 tax return. Just make sure that the contribution is for 2024 when you make it. Your administrator can assist you.
