I spent $15,000 for windows in my primary house. How do I get tax relief for these windows? Can the cost be spread over 5 yeaars?

    Hi,

    The cost of those windows is not tax deductible. However, often those windows are an upgrade and will qualify for the Energy Credit. Please see the Home Energy Credit section under Deductions/Credits to see if your windows qualify for the credit. That may generate a refund or lower your taxes. Often the credit can be carried forward to next year if you are unable to use the full amount this year.
