Hello,

I wanted some guidance on my taxes this year. For the first half of the year, I lived in California on Unemployment Insurance while looking for work, but have since found a new job in the Netherlands.

Where (or with whom) can I find the information that I will need to understand this situation for my US taxes for this year.

I am currently residing in NL, and will be for a few years. This year I spent more than 30 days in the US this year so I need help understanding what will be required of me.

    Hi Dlee,

If you're a U.S. Citizen, you report all world-wide income on your Form 1040 tax return. You may need to convert the Euro to U.S. Dollars if the Netherland employment doesn't file a U.S. based income tax form such as a W-2.

You can use this U.S. government currency exchange converter here.

Here's an article about this in our Community.
