Previous year income tax filed but not returned

So I mailed in my 2020 tax return last year before the deadline I've been back and forth checking the website an they have received it and processed it why have I not received the check

    If you haven't received your refund yet, and the IRS website doesn't show an update, you may need to contact them directly to make sure 1. they received your return and 2. there are no hold-ups or questions. Often if the IRS has any questions, they will mail you a letter to the address on your return. You can call the IRS at 800-829-1040 or contact a local IRS office to make an appt.
