I have 3 grand children that placed in my custody eight months ago through CPS . WillI be able to carry my taxes even though it’s been eight months,

    Hello,

    Are you wondering if you can claim your grandchildren on your taxes? The IRS has a great little quiz that you can take to help you figure that out:

    If that doesn't help, I would recommend looking at publication 501 ( https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p501.pdf ), starting with page 11. There are certain requirements you need to meet before being able to claim someone as a dependent. If they lived with you for most of the year and you provided most of their support (like food and shelter), it is likely that you can claim them as a dependent.
