I sold an old house and bought a new house in 2024. Do I need a special version of Taxact to file?

    Hello,

    We are not TaxAct or associated with them. I can only speak for FreeTaxUSA.

    And no, you will not need to get a special edition of our software in order to report the sale and purchase of a main home. All of our supported forms and credits/deductions are available on the federal return for free.

    If you have any questions on the process, I would recommend contacting customer support so they can assist you sooner.
