Union Dues? 401k!?

If I am apart of a union for my company is there a way to claim those fees? Also wondering about 401k and my input to that?

    Hello! Thank you for contacting the FreeTaxUSA Community.

    Union dues are no longer a deductible expense on the Federal Return.

    A 401K contribution is deducted from your taxable wages. Therefore, you are not taxed on the 401K Contribution. You will be taxed on that money at the time of distribution. You will not need to make an entry for your 401K Contributions.
