Is checks from DSS for Day care provider, taxable?

    Hello,

    Generally speaking, No, that is not taxable income. It is a subsidy paid by the Department of Social Services for child care on your behalf. I suggest you contact DSS to make sure and understand the payments to your Day Care Provider.
