How to add more than one bank account for refund?

I have started my 2024 tax return and when I reached the section to input bank info for direct deposit, I can't find where to add a second bank account.

I remember I was able to separate 2023's refund into two accounts, are we still able to do that?

    Hello,

Please go to Final Steps -> Federal Direct Deposit of Refund

The page should ask you how you would like to receive your refund. Once you select Direct Deposit, a question at the bottom should appear asking if you would like to split your refund into more than one bank account.

However, if you are using our Pay With Refund (Refund Transfer) option to pay our filing fees, you will not be able to do more than one account for direct deposit.

Hello Shanon12! If you chose to split your refund between two accounts, you should have received the payments in each account once the IRS released your refund. If there was an issue with one of the bank accounts listed and the IRS is unable to deposit the refund into your account, they will most likely send a refund check to the address listed on your return.

The IRS is in the process of eliminating paper checks, so they may send you a notice asking for updated direct deposit information. I would suggest contacting the IRS directly for assistance.
