W2 and K1 filling

I work for the state and have a W2. I also am a partner in a separate small business. Do I have to file my W2 and K1 together or can I file my W2 and then go back and file my K1? I don't really want to wait on the accounts to finish my business taxes.

Hi DillonShrader,

The W-2 and the Schedule K-1 (form 1065) are both reported on the Form 1040 and so you should file them on the same return that is filed at the same time. That is the best way.
