Where do I enter real estate tax paid?

I checked the "I paid real estate taxes" box for "Tell us about your home" question under deductions. But there's no area to enter real estate taxes. At the bottom of that page it says "If your lender reported property taxes on your Form 1098, you can enter that on the next screens". Except I can't find any "next screens" that specifically ask for real estate taxes. Do I just enter it in the "Other Deductible Tax" box on the "Taxes Paid" screen?

Hi pcg79,
Follow this menu path: Deductions/Credits > Itemized Deductions > Itemized Deductions Selection. This brings you to the main itemized deductions screen titled Let's fill out your itemized deductions. The first choice listed is Homeowner Expenses (Form 1098). Select Start/Edit to the right. You'll land on the Tell us about your home screen that shows 3 boxes.
Select the, I paid real estate taxes (property taxes) box. Save and Continue. The next screen is How much did you pay in real estate taxes?
A second more direct option is to follow this menu path: Deductions/Credits > Itemized Deductions > Homeowner Expenses (1098). This takes you directly to the Tell us about your home screen where you'll have the same 3 boxes to choose from. Select the middle box, I paid real estate taxes (property taxes) box. Save and Continue.
If neither of those work, please contact Support and we can give you direct guidance.

Do you have a mortgage and does the Form 1098 you received have an entry for real estate/property taxes paid in Box 10? If so, there should be a place to enter those taxes as part of the data entry for the 1098. If there's no entry there and you paid your property taxes directly yourself, you would have to add them on the taxes screen.

To be extra explicit - yes, I have a 1098. Yes, it has an entry for property taxes paid. No - as I said originally - there is no place to enter those taxes as part of the data entry for 1098. Instead it says "If your lender reported property taxes on your Form 1098, you can enter that on the next screens".
So exactly what "taxes screen" are you talking about? Where do I add property taxes?

Select the, I paid real estate taxes (property taxes) box. Save and Continue. The next screen is How much did you pay in real estate taxes?
Thank you for the detailed walk through. Unfortunately mine must be broken or something because I do not get a "How much did you pay in real estate taxes" screen even though I definitely have the "I paid real estate taxes (property taxes)" box checked. I tried deleting my 1098 and redoing it following your steps and I still don't get it.
I'll contact Support, thank you.
