in Credits/Deductions

past years on hr block I’ve been able to file HOH I’ve got 3 kids I claim 2 for dependent and 3 for head of household but freetaxusa is not allowing me to claim that way. Anyone know why?? I’m very confused. My 1 child I claim for EIC only her dad claims as dependent as I pay for all living expenses

    Hi Mylissa,

    You only need to claim at least one dependent to use head of household. Since you are claiming at least one child, the software will not let you use a second person as a qualifying person for head of household. That is just unnecessary.
