2 page W2

My wife was a part year resident of WI last year and now lives in MN. She worked in MN the entire year and kept the same job. We have decided to file separately but she needs help filing.
She got a two page W2 in the mail and she was trying to figure out the following:
page 1:
- Federal Filling Copy
- MN State Filing Copy
page 2:
- WI State Filing Copy
All the boxes appear the same except 12CD, 15, 16. No amount in box 17 on the WI filing copy.
If anyone could advise her how to file this, it would be great before seeking out a CPA.

Hello Sammypaige,
Since MN requires you to use the same filing status as your federal return, you may want to use Married Separate, however, there are disadvantages to that filing status. Higher taxes, less credits. Do you both live in MN now? If so, you could still file married jointly and she could create another account to file the part-year WI return, which can be filed as married separately.
When you enter her W2, make sure you just use ONE W-2 in the software and combine them by entering the state boxes (15-20) on the one W-2.
If you need help, you may want to add pro support and chat with a Tax Pro. Or add Deluxe for Live Chat.
You may want to read this community thread on a W-2 when you live in one state and work in another.
