W2 HSA higher than actual.

My W-2 HSA total is higher than the actual total: $2690 instead of $2517, according to my HSA statements. My previous employer is unresponsive to requests to correct my W-2. I also have excess contributions due to losing coverage mid-year. The tool suggests I withdraw $615, but the actual excess is $442. How do I file this properly?

Let me make sure I'm understanding. Your W-2 Box 12 Code W reports $2690 as your HSA contributions while your HSA statements show $2517 as your contributions, correct?
I don't recommend entering a contribution amount different from what your W-2 shows. I first recommend reaching out to your HSA guardian to see if they can provide clarification regarding the contribution discrepancy. If your HSA guardian's information does not match your former employer's amount shown on your W-2, you will need to do one of the following:
1) If your former employer won't issue a corrected W-2, you will want to reach out to the IRS to determine the best way to proceed with getting your former employer to cooperate. You can reach the IRS by calling 800-829-1040 or by making an appointment with your local IRS office. You may end up needing to file an extension while working through this process.
OR
2) Enter your W-2 HSA contributions as reported. Withdraw the excess $615 in contributions as suggested by the software.
