Missing Residential Clean Energy Costs

FreeTaxUSA is saying that I didn't enter any costs for Residential Clean Energy but I have entered a HVAC system and have a $600 credit.

Why is is saying this?

I figured it out myself. The questions are missleading and if you don't know exactly which sections they are asking you about then you can have empty fields.

The "wizard" asks you all about energy cost and it is unclear whether they are talking about all the possible costs or only specific ones.

I have this same problem, but I have not figured it out.
A few pages into the wizard I enter just over $10k for "Enter your costs for electric or natural gas heat pumps:"
At the end of I can see on the "Home Energy Credit Summary" it shows a $2000 credit, but clicking "Continue" on the "Your 2024 Deductions and Credits Summary" yields the error.

From the start of the energy credits make sure you only answer "yes" to the one that asks you about your particular item. It seems like you have to answer "yes - I have energy related costs" from the very beginning but these are actually specific to solar, geothermal items specifically. You will get to one, about the third or fourth section where heaters and heat pumps are mentioned.

I have the same problem and have purchased a new HVAC as well. It isn't clear to me what I've selected that is wrong.

Screen 1: Did you make your home more energy efficient:

Qst1: Did you make energy efficiency improvements to your home in the United States during 2024?

I have answered yes. If you answer no, you don't go through the rest of the wizard for energy credits.

Qst2: Do you have any Home Energy Credit carryforward from your 2023 tax return?

    Ans: No

Screen 2: I've entered my single, home residence

Screen 3: Tell us about your clean energy expenses

Ans: Left all numbers blank and indicated no for battery storage

Screen 4: Tell us about your energy efficiency improvements

Qst: Did you make qualified energy efficiency improvements to your main home during 2024?

    Ans: No

Screen 5: Tell us about your fuel cell costs

    Ans: Left empty

Screen 6: Tell us about your energy property expense

Filled out amount for costs for central air conditioners

Indicated Yes, this qualified energy property originally placed in service by you

Screen 7: Tell us about your home energy audit

Ans: Indicated no that I didn't pay for a home energy auto

Screen 8 is the summary and indicates the $600 credit

I didn't see anything obviously wrong with the worksheets.

So how are you determining that there was no credit?

The credit is applied. The worksheets look fine. I just get the warning in the subject of this message when I get to the final submission steps.
