I got Medicaid through the NYS Marketplace

When I answer Yes to that question your Software asks me to enter what is on my 1095-A. I was given a 1095-B. How should I answer the question because I believe your software will flag my returns with an issue if I do not enter something. Thanks!

You only need to answer that question 'yes' if you purchased health insurance through the marketplace and received a subsidy to help pay for your premium. If that had applied to you, you would've received a 1095-A.

Change your answer to 'no.' Medicaid is not health insurance you purchased through the marketplace.

Thank you for the quick response. I am assuming you are a tax expert on this correct? So my answer would be 'NO' even though I in-fact received it through the NYS Marketplace?

If you have Medicaid for all 12 months, you did not purchase health insurance through the marketplace, nor did you receive a premium tax credit to subsidize the cost. If you had, you would have received a 1095-A. You received a 1095-B, which merely shows that you were covered for all 12 months. You should answer the question 'no.'

If you want official confirmation that my answer is correct, check with the marketplace.
