Where do I enter the 1098 mortgage interest statement?

    Under itemized deductions. You also enter your property taxes, unreimbursed medical expenses, other state and local taxes, and charitable contributions in that section. And the the software will determine whether it's more beneficial for you to take those deductions or use the standard deduction.
