South Carolina Solar Credit

I installed a solar system on our home in 2024 and can see the tax credit on the Federal Form. Where is this shown on the South Carolina State form? I was surprised that I still owed a small amount of taxes for the state.

    Hello dwolf,

The SC solar credit is calculated on a % of the total cost of the installation (25%). Then it is limited to $3500 a year. However it is also nonrefundable and limited to your SC total tax and then by 50%. Check your SC Summary page and your SC return. Look for Form SC1040TC and Form Sc Schedule TC-38
