I live in NYC and am entering my W2. The site asks, "If any State Disability Insurance (SDI) was withheld from your wages and is shown in Box 19 of this W-2, enter the amount:"

Box 19 has an amount and is labeled "Local income tax."

How do I know if the local income tax includes SDI? Do I enter the full local income tax amount from box 19? Or do i leave it blank?

@xlook, this is a great question. You will want to check to see what is printed in Box 20 for the locality. If it has a name such as "NYC" or something similar to a location (city or county), you can know that it's local tax withheld. If it has something similar to "SDI-FLI" or something else that signifies being state disability insurance or family leave insurance, that will tell you that it is for SDI or FLI.

Box 20 should never indicate a combination of both city and SDI; if you had both withheld, they would each have their own lines and set of boxes on your W-2.
