Are premiums paid for hospital indemnity & critical illness insurance plans tax deductible? If so, where to report the payments on the tax return?

Generally, they are not tax deductible as medical insurance, since the payments, when disbursed, are generally not taxable income. Was this a benefit you paid through your employer? If so, typically it is an after-tax payment for the premium.
