Married filling jointly while living in different states

I lived in AZ throughout 2024 while wife was in MS from Jan to September then moved to TX for the rest of the year. I know it's a bit complicated and maybe would open 2 or 3 accounts to file state separately. Still stuck how to go about it.

    Hello Bzu,

Residents of AZ and MS can use the same filing status as their federal return. To proceed using our software, include both state returns:

    1. On the MS residency status screen, select part-year resident and enter the residency dates for which your wife was a resident. On the MS income screen, enter the income your wife earned while living in MS to properly allocate the correct income amount to MS.
    2. Because your wife was a non-resident of AZ, you can file a non-resident return even though you are a resident. Select non-resident for your AZ residency status. Include income from all sources, including community property income earned by your spouse.
