Do we report estimated taxes we paid? Do we enter state estimated taxes, or just federal?

Are we supposed to report estimated taxes we paid the previous year on the tax return we're doing this year? On FreeTaxUSA, I see that there's space to report federal taxes paid in each quarter. Do we put state estimated taxes there as well? It says federal, and doesn't have a separate field for state. Do we put the combined amount of state and federal estimated taxes we paid in the fields?

    Do NOT combine them. There will be a separate place to enter your state estimated taxes. For California it's toward the end of the return, under "CA Miscellaneous Topics." It's the first item on that screen.
