Hi, I entered my payment information for Georgia taxes to be auto-deducted on the 15th of April, 2026 and submitted as e-filed. I’m reviewing a prior state tax filing involving part-year residency and subsequent relocation. There is a question about whether income earned after the move was properly classified. Before taking any steps, I’m trying to understand the broader procedural framework: In residency disputes, how much weight is typically…

We lived together in NY for about half of 2024, but then my spouse moved to MI for the latter half. I am still living and working in NYC. My spouse lives in MI and has no income other than interest and dividends. How do we file our federal and state taxes?
My mom moved from PA to AL in 2024, She has IRAs that were funded in PA, and are not taxable in PA. Are they now fully taxable to AL or do they have a basis and just subsequent earnings will be taxable to AL?
