Minnesota State return requires a 7 digit Payer ID for 1099R forms. My 1099R has a Federal ID beginning with 41- followed by 7 digits. FreeTax requires that I enter this entire number which I did. It wouldn't let me just enter the 7 digits. Now I can't efile because the entered number isn't 7 digits. Is there any workaround for this?

You need to enter the 9-digit Federal ID number for all 1099Rs. If you had state income taxes withheld from the distribution you also need to enter the STATE ID number (which will be in box 15 of the 1099R.) If there was no state income tax withheld, you don't need a State ID number.
