I filled out my W4 as married joint filing. My employee does not with hold any tax from my pay.

My husband earns $100,000 year and I earn $25,000.

Should I not have taxes withheld from my pay?

Thank you for any help.

Thank you for such a quick reply.

I will check out the estimator. I have been putting $40 every week in savings in case we owe.

You should have taxes withheld from your paycheck if you expect to owe any federal income tax this tax year.  If you don’t have enough tax withheld throughout the year, you may have to pay a penalty or interest on the unpaid balance. Having taxes withheld can help you avoid this situation and spread your tax payments over the year. The IRS has a tool that can help you determine the correct amount of tax that you should have withheld from your paychecks. You can find that tool here: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-withholding-estimator
